The Way Matcha Should Be.
Authentic Japanese matcha, thoughtfully curated from Sawtelle Japantown in West Los Angeles. We believe matcha isn't reserved for special occasions. It belongs in everyday life—bringing beauty, mindfulness, and connection to every cup.
Our Home
Luna Matcha was born in Sawtelle Japantown, one of America's most vibrant destinations for Japanese food, craftsmanship, and culture.
For generations, this neighborhood has connected Japan and Los Angeles through its restaurants, cafés, markets, and artisans. Every day, people come here to experience authentic Japanese culture—not as a tourist attraction, but as part of everyday life.
We're proud to call Sawtelle home, because we believe authentic Japanese craftsmanship deserves an authentic home.
Our Promise
We don't simply source products.
We build relationships with the people who make them.
Every tea, every whisk, and every bowl is carefully chosen because we genuinely believe it deserves a place in someone's daily ritual.
We believe authenticity comes from trust, not trends.
Our Matcha
Our organic matcha comes from Kagoshima, Japan's leading region for premium organic tea.
Its volcanic soil, clean water, and generations of dedicated tea farmers produce matcha with remarkable color, rich umami, and exceptional balance.
Alongside our own organic collection, we're proud to offer authentic teas from Marukyu Koyamaen and handcrafted Takayama Chasen made by Suikaen—some of Japan's most respected names in tea craftsmanship.
Guided by a Tea Master
Every Luna Matcha product is selected together with Tea Master Hiroyuki Mori.
As one of Japan's highest-certified tea professionals, he helps ensure every product reflects the quality, authenticity, and craftsmanship we proudly stand behind.
Because exceptional matcha begins long before it reaches your bowl.
Our Vision
We believe matcha shouldn't exist only in tea ceremonies.
It belongs in modern kitchens, creative studios, cafés, and everyday routines.
Our goal isn't to modernize Japanese culture.
It's to make authentic Japanese craftsmanship feel natural, approachable, and relevant for today's lifestyle.
That's what The Way Matcha Should Be. means to us.
Our Philosophy
In Japan, there's a word we treasure:
On-gaeshi.
It means giving back with gratitude.
As Luna Matcha grows, we hope to share more than exceptional matcha.
We hope to share the craftsmanship, generosity, and spirit that have shaped Japanese culture for generations.
