Our History
Welcome to LUNA MATCHA
WHERE TRADITION MEETS WELLNESS - LUNA MATCHA
Japan Town in LA
For a decade, Lune Noir has been a beacon of Japanese culture on Sawtelle Blvd in Los Angeles, welcoming customers from all walks of life.
Hiroko - the founder
While high-quality matcha is available in America, it often comes with a steep price.
At Lune Noir, we believe that health and happiness shouldn't be luxuries.
This belief inspired us to launch LUNA MATCHA.
What Makes Matcha Different from Regular Green Tea?
Matcha is made by grinding whole tea leaves into a fine powder, allowing you to consume all the nutrients.
L-theanine is known for its relaxing effects. While matcha contains a similar amount of caffeine as coffee, the L-theanine helps to mitigate the post-caffeine crash.
Matcha is also rich in polyphenols, which are known for their antioxidant properties and potential benefits for cholesterol levels.
Organic Matcha
Kagoshima Prefecture in Kyushu is Japan's leading producer of organic matcha. We directly source and sell rare organic matcha from this region.
What makes Kagoshima tea unique?
Kagoshima, located in the southernmost part of Japan, is famous for its active volcano, Sakurajima, and its tea production.
Grown in nutrient-rich volcanic soil and irrigated with pure water, our tea leaves are harvested at the optimal time to ensure peak flavor.
The Tea Master
Hiroyuki Mori, one of Japan's 23 highest-ranked tea masters.
We develop our products in collaboration with a tea master from a tea company with a 140-year history.
